THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY OF DIFFERENT MATERIALS FOR A COMPOSITE WALL
Machine starting Up!
Thermal conductivity of MILD STEEL : K1
K1=Q * L1/A*(T1-T2)
Themal of conductivity of BAKELITE : K2
K2=Q * L2/A*(T2-T3)
Themal of conductivity of WOOD : K3
K3=Q * L3/A*(T3-T4)
A : Area of Cross-Section
A = (3.14 * D^2 )/4
D : Diameter of Plates
L : Thickness of Disc
L1 :Thickness of Mild steel
L2 :Thickness of Bakelite
L3 :Thickness of Wood
SIMULATOR PROCEDURES
OPEN THE SIMULATOR.
1 ) CLICK ON THE OBJECTIVE MENU TO FIND WHAT THE EXPERIMENT IS ABOUT
2 ) CLICK ON THE PROCEDURE MENU TO FIND THR PROCEDURES
3 ) NOW TURN ON THE SWITCH OF THE MACHINE OR CLICK THE START MACHINE BUTTON
4) NOW A TOGGLE BUTTON WILL APPEAR ON THE LEFT CORNER. CLICK THE BUTTON TO ENTER THE VALUES OF VOLTAGE (40v-100v) , CURRENT(0.10A -0.8) AND VOLUME(PREDEFINED).
5 ) CLICK ON THE SIMULATE BUTTON . YOU WILL NOTICE THE CHANGES IN THE voltmeter AND ammeter . ALSO FOR ALL THE temperature
6 ) NOW CLICK SHOW BUTTON TO FIND ALL THE RESULTS.
We will also Show you instructions Step-By-Step
Step 1
Start the simulation process By clicking on either the switch or Start the machine button
Step 2
Click on the the Toggle bar on the Top left-corner
Step 3
Now Enter the values Of Voltage .The Machine works Best under the voltage Range of 40 V-60 V
Step 4
Now Enter the values Of Current .The Machine works Best under the current Range of 0.2A - 0.9A .
Step 5
Now click the show Simulation tab . You will see the needles in the voltmeter , ammeter and thermometers moving .
Note Down the values . Calcuate the values by the formulae given to you.
After calculating your values . Now click on the Show result button To verify your calculations Step 6
Mild Steel
Mild Steel
It contains less then 0.25% Carbon which makes it more ductile and less hard .
Bakelite
It is a Thermosetting Phenol formaldehide resin , form from a condesation reaction of phenol with formaldehide
Wood
Wood is a porus and fiberous structural tissue found in the stems and roots of tree
Area
The are is taken perpendicular to the heat flow for the process of conduction takes place in that direction
Steady State
We take the calculations in the steady state conditions for the temperatures to not to effect the thermal conductivity constants
